84th Cardiff Scout Group

About Beavers at the 84th Cardiff

Beavers is the second section of Scouting, and builds on the skills for life young people have earned in Squirrels. The Beaver programme covers a huge range of activities, from litter picking to cooking, campfires to holding snakes (yes, really!) and everything in between.

Young people can start Beavers around their 6th birthday and will move on to Cubs when they are around 8 years old. Our Beaver Colony currently has capacity for 30 young people amongst five lodges.

There are 23 activity badges to work towards, a number of staged activity badges, six challenge badges and the top award for Beavers, the Chief Scout Bronze Award. As Beavers earn their badges they are building valuable #skillsforlife

All of our sections are run entirely by volunteers, Lynn is currently the Beaver Team Leader and is supported by a number of other team members. If you think you could offer some time as a volunteer to help our young people, please get in touch with us.

Beavers Uniform

Beavers are instantly recognisable from their bright blue jumpers. Upon investiture to the group our Beavers will also receive a black and red necker, to show they are part of the 84th Cardiff Scout Group. The group also offers optional t-shirts and hoodies to purchase which can be worn in place of uniform for certain activities.

All uniform orders place via https://www.cardiffandvalescoutshop.co.uk/ will earn the group a commision on the order.

Any badges earned are then sewn on to the uniform jumper. The image above shows the correct placement of these badges. If sewing is not your thing, the group offers a badge sewing service to help raise funds to put back in to the programme!
