About Cubs at the 84th Cardiff

Cubs is the third section of Scouting, and continues to offer new skills and adventure. One week Cubs might go rafting, the next they may be learning about healthy eating, no two weeks are ever the same!

Young people can start Cubs around their 8th birthday and will move on to Scouts when they are around 10.5 years old. Our Cub Pack currently has capacity for 30 young people amongst five sixes.

There are 38 activity badges to work towards, a number of staged activity badges, seven challenge badges and the top award for Cubs, the Chief Scout Silver Award. As Cubs earn their badges they are building valuable #skillsforlife

All of our sections are run entirely by volunteers, Simon is currently the Cubs Team Leader and is supported by a number of other team members. If you think you could offer some time as a volunteer to help our young people, please get in touch with us.

Cubs Uniform

Cubs are instantly recognisable from their green jumpers. Upon investiture to the group our Cubs will also receive a black and red necker, to show they are part of the 84th Cardiff Scout Group. The group also offers optional t-shirts and hoodies to purchase which can be worn in place of uniform for certain activities.

All uniform orders place via https://www.cardiffandvalescoutshop.co.uk/ will earn the group a commision on the order.

Any badges earned are then sewn on to the uniform jumper. The image above shows the correct placement of these badges. If sewing is not your thing, the group offers a badge sewing service to help raise funds to put back in to the programme!
