About Scouts at the 84th Cardiff
Scouts is the fourth section of Scouting and the final section offered at group level. The Scouts programme is packed full of challenge and adventure, including plenty of camping opportunities!
Young people can start Scouts around age 10.5 and can move on to Explorers or a Young Leader role when they are around 14 years old. Our Scout Troop currently has capacity for 30 young people amongst five patrols.
There are 59 activity badges to work towards, a number of staged activity badges, nine challenge badges and the top award for Scouts, the Chief Scout Gold Award. As Scouts earn their badges they are building valuable #skillsforlife
All of our sections are run entirely by volunteers, Simon is currently the Scouts Team Leader and is supported by a number of other team members. If you think you could offer some time as a volunteer to help our young people, please get in touch with us.
Scouts Uniform

Scouts are recognisable by their green uniform shirts. Upon investiture to the group our Scouts will also receive a black and red necker, to show they are part of the 84th Cardiff Scout Group. The group also offers optional t-shirts and hoodies to purchase which can be worn in place of uniform for certain activities.
All uniform orders place via https://www.cardiffandvalescoutshop.co.uk/ will earn the group a commision on the order.
Any badges earned are then sewn on to the uniform jumper. The image above shows the correct placement of these badges. If sewing is not your thing, the group offers a badge sewing service to help raise funds to put back in to the programme!
